The program equips interns with an understanding of working in an environment dedicated to exceeding client expectations and delivering products and services distinct to unique client needs.Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Involvement in actuarial valuations for funding purposes for pension plans;</li><li>Involvement in actuarial valuations for accounting purposes;</li><li>Involvement in the preparation of actuarial costings and projections;</li><li>Provide routine technical and analytical support to ensure the continuous efficient operation of our clients' pension plan arrangements;</li><li>Read and interpret pension plan texts;</li><li>Year-end update of plan records, including the reconciliation of the membership, contributions and trust fund;</li><li>Completing government filings with pension regulators;</li><li>Calculate benefit entitlements and prepare option packages on retirement, termination, death and marriage breakdown;</li><li>Participating in internal seminars regarding current industry issues and technical training; and</li><li>Working with a variety of Excel-based actuarial tools.</li></ul>Required Skills:<ul><li>Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment;</li><li>Thorough and good organizational skills;</li><li>Good knowledge of Excel and Word; and</li><li>Previous work experience or actuarial co-op experience in a consulting/insurance environment is an asset.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Students should be enrolled in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics or Business Administration; and</li><li>Applicants should preferably be in 2nd work term or above.</li></ul>How we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
