About the role

We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Reporting and Analysis team. As the Actuarial Analyst, you will support the delivery of the Group’s actuarial reporting requirements for Solvency II, IFRS, EV, and risk-based capital metrics.

You will also support the delivery of actuarial analysis to assist the objectives of the Finance, ALM, Capital, and Investment teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support and perform the production of Group actuarial reports and relevant analysis, including IFRS, Solvency I, Solvency II, economic capital, and MCEV.
  • Deliver reinsurer reporting requirements in line with Group treaties.
  • Review methodologies and assumptions deployed in actuarial systems used to fulfill the team’s objectives.
  • Develop and improve the modelling methodologies and reporting tools used.
  • Test reporting tools developed by the IT function and Actuarial Systems team.
  • Input into the development of responses to requests from UK regulators.
  • Operate a robust control framework for the production of results, including maintaining appropriate documentation and compliance with relevant requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Numerate related degree 2.2 or above is required.
  • A grade in A-level mathematics is required.
  • Member of IFoA and making progress with exams.
  • Completion/exemption of some CT series/Core Principles exams is desirable.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and markets.
  • Able to assess materiality of issues and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to more senior members of the team.
