Munich Re Singapore Branch, part of Munich Re, which is the world’s largest reinsurer, is looking for a highly motivated Life Pricing Actuarial Analyst who can help us consolidate our market-leading position in the South East Asia (SEA) life reinsurance market. You should be interested in technical Actuarial work, enjoy working across multiple markets and being part of a diverse team. You should be a good communicator, have reasonable commercial/business acumen and be able to work closely with Actuaries within Munich Re and at clients.
Reporting to the Senior Actuary and based in Singapore, your role will involve life reinsurance pricing and experience studies for the South East Asia Life reinsurance market.
Your job:
Pricing:
- Develop reinsurance solutions for South East Asia Life insurance clients mainly from Indonesia and Vietnam market.
- Work with relevant stakeholders such as Valuation, Inforce Management, Underwriting, Claims and Client Managers whilst developing these product solutions.
- Ensure these solutions are in line with internal Munich Re guidelines and risk appetite.
- Work with Senior Actuaries and Client Managers on client quotations focusing on timely delivery of quotes, producing pricing reports and to achieve a profitable outcome for Munich Re.
- Ensure the quotations are in compliance with applicable government/regulatory and internal guidelines and requirements.
Experience studies:
- Work with Direct manager and Senior Actuaries on research projects such as derivation of incidence rates for Critical Illness products.
- Work with Direct Manager and Senior Actuaries to perform experience studies including but not limited to collating data, performing calculations, presenting analysis and document results.
- Ad-hoc projects (e.g. statement of accounts, model conversions, client database maintenance etc).
Your profile:
- Associate or Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (i.e. ASA, FSA, AIAA, FIA).
- 3 to 5 years of relevant life insurance / reinsurance experience.
- Good academic achievements.
- Excellent analytical skills, logical and concise in approach and demonstrate attention to detail. Knowledge on data analytic will be an advantage.
- Strong SQL, Excel and VBA skills would be advantageous.
- A pragmatic approach to business pressure and agility are essential.
- Self-motivated and able to work within a team environment, outcome focused.
- Knowledge of a SEA language will be an advantage as this role will be client facing at times.
