This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from either our Seattle, WA, San Francisco, CA, Irvine, CA, or Los Angeles, CA office.

What the day will look like
- Lead actuary on client teams, leading actuarial projects and client relationships.
- Drive regional client and colleague success; engage with national initiatives to drive overall business success.
- Influence clients' overall strategic and financial direction in benefits; frame results in the context of the marketplace.
- Mentor and grow junior actuaries in their careers to build skills and improve engagement.
- Make statements of actuarial opinion and lead analysis behind them; responsible for success and accuracy of all actuarial deliverables.
- Communicate actuarial results to clients; ensure success of financial meetings, leveraging as appropriate in explaining actuarial results and potential strategic/tactical alternatives.
- Drive strategy evolution for clients as a result of data – benchmarking, market intel, or claims data.
- Review models to evaluate cost-saving and budgeting scenarios.
- Seek and provide peer review to ensure high quality client deliverables.
- Develop general consulting skills, knowledge, and exposure for regional analytics team.
- Travel as needed.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Twelve plus years of Health and Benefits financial or actuarial experience; ten plus years of Benefits consulting/brokerage experience.
- Client-facing experience at a consulting company, insurance company, brokerage, or in the Health and Benefits discipline, with a strong preference for experience with large corporate clients (5,000 employees plus).

- Exhibit thought leadership—understand and be able to articulate ideas to clients.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $245,000 to $275,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
