Senior Actuarial Analyst

You will join the exciting Swiss Re journey to transform its global L&H experience studies (ES) landscape by shaping, influencing, introducing, and maintaining a new standardized and state-of-the-art solution built for the global L&H experience studies community.

About the Team:

The Leap R Migration Team is being formed as a global team to support adoption of the Leap R tool by the local experience studies teams. Leap R has been developed based on a global methodology to enable ES actuaries to utilize R efficiently to undertake experience studies. This facilitates improved generation of insights for pricing and other stakeholders.

The Leap R Migration Team will work with the Experience Studies Centre and collaborate closely with the local ES teams to deliver migration targets.

The Experience Studies Centre is part of the OVAL and Global Experience studies team within L&H Portfolio Steering & Monitoring (PSM) under the Chief Underwriting Office (CUO). We aim to implement a standardized and state-of-the-art Experience Studies solution that enables effective generation of insights for the L&H business to proactively steer L&H Re in delivering sustainable profits.

About the Role:

The candidate will be a member of the Leap R Migration Team. Leap R is replacing SAS and R as the experience studies calculation engine for L&H (ex. North America). The Leap R Migration Team is being formed to support the rollout and adoption of the Leap R ES engine by the local experience studies teams in Asia and EMEA.

You will be responsible for migrating studies currently undertaken with SAS or R to Leap R, including data preparation and documentation of the process. Through this, you will deliver experience analyses for stakeholders including experience studies, pricing, and valuation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver experience studies with Leap R, migrated from existing solutions, in collaboration with the local experience studies teams and achieve annual migration targets.
  • Validate and reconcile study results with previous studies undertaken with SAS or R.
  • Analyze and interpret findings, formulate and communicate conclusions.
  • Follow the processes, framework, and standard operating procedure for work to be undertaken by the Leap R Migration Team.
  • Ensure experience studies are migrated in line with global experience studies methodology and standards.
  • Perform reviews of peer work and ensure correct documentation of Leap R migrations.
  • Foster strong collaboration with colleagues across regions and central teams to ensure alignment and contribution to a common global experience studies approach.

About You:

Are you an effective team worker with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys building working relationships across technical subject areas?

Essentials:

  • Strong actuarial experience with 3+ years in either L&H reinsurance, primary insurance, or consulting.
  • Working knowledge in R.
  • Good actuarial institute exam progress.
  • Organization and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Able to interact with colleagues across all levels and multiple locations of the organization and work toward a common goal.
  • Able to work independently and in a team (including cross-functional teams) to contribute to successful delivery of work.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior hands-on working experience with L&H experience studies work.
  • Expertise in a variety of L&H products, ideally across multiple global markets/regions.
