This role is integral to delivering our Data, Actuarial Modelling Foundation, and Commercial Analytics pillars, which are key to our mission of providing reliable data and enhancing actuarial processes.

By joining us, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to improving the ways of working for actuarial talent across Bupa, developing cross-business frameworks, and providing clearer career paths for actuaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the BGIUK Actuarial Transformation Programme to deliver Data, Actuarial Modelling, and Commercial Analytics platforms.
  • Build and embed the Actuarial Month-end data processes in Snowflake.

  • Engage with Group Actuarial and key stakeholders to ensure delivery meets business needs.
  • Support the Technical Actuarial team to enhance process optimization, culture, governance, and ways of working.
  • Report project status, key decisions, and challenges to local and Group Project governance committees.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ideally a qualified actuary with at least 10 years of actuarial experience (although alternatives considered DOE).
  • Experience in reserving and designing reserving methodologies for insurance products.
  • Knowledge of health insurance, preferably UK Private Medical Insurance.
  • Strong commercial decision-making skills.
  • Understanding of Solvency/Capital requirements and actuarial forecasting processes.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage change and work with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting complex issues clearly.
  • Experience managing a specialist team with a mix of actuarial and non-actuarial personnel.

Benefits

Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people. Viva is our global wellbeing programme and includes all aspects of our health – from mental and physical, to financial, social, and environmental wellbeing.

Joining Bupa in this role you will receive the following benefits and more:

  • Bupa medical insurance for you and your family as a benefit in kind.
  • An enhanced pension plan and life insurance.
  • Free health assessment for you and your spouse.
  • Target bonus of 25% based on individual and company performance.
