Job Summary: This position is responsible for all aspects of the financial analysis, valuation, reporting, and forecasting of certain non-traditional life and/or annuity reinsurance transactions sourced by Hannover Re US, referred to internally as Structured Solutions business. This includes ensuring timely and accurate analysis and reporting on all financial basis relevant to Hannover Re, critical review of business drivers, client reporting, and oversight of actuarial models supporting the valuation of the business.
Essential Functions:
(50%) Coordinates the preparation of, reviews, approves, and explains financial results on US statutory, IFRS, Solvency II, fair value, and other relevant financial basis to senior management. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of financial results. This includes:
- Ownership of the actuarial models and model results supporting the valuation and financial reporting.
- Ensuring that appropriate controls are in place and that junior team members are aware of and adhere to these controls.
- Seeks to establish common practices across all of FRV.
(30%) Performs ongoing in-force management of assigned deals. This includes:
- Monitoring actual experience against expectations to keep management informed of performance and allow for any corrective action, if needed.
- Identifying areas for improvements in operational efficiency in administering and reporting deals to enhance the value of the organization by minimizing operational costs.
- Maintaining actuarial models on all relevant platforms to a high standard with emphasis on transparency and ensuring that appropriate controls are in place and effective.
(5%) Ensures the timely completion of audits by providing timely support to auditors, developing and maintaining appropriate records to support audit requests, and responding effectively to both internal and external auditor requests.
(15%) Collaborates within the department and organization on special projects and initiatives utilizing actuarial and business expertise, as needed. Collaborates effectively across other functional areas including Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Enterprise Risk Management/Group Risk Management.

You come equipped with:
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar.
- 8+ years of actuarial experience across financial reporting and/or pricing roles.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries with relevant experience.
- Actuarial modelling experience: Risk Agility FM, MG-ALFA, or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Annuity and Life Insurance product knowledge; Reinsurance knowledge.
- Financial reporting knowledge: US Stat/GAAP, Solvency II, IFRS17.
- Strong writing skills and verbal communication.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Member in good standing of the American Academy of Actuaries.
- Experience with valuation or pricing of modern life or annuity products.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SQL/Access.
- Working knowledge of VBA, R, Python, or similar coding/programming language.
Travel:
- Limited travel (<5%), including occasional travel to the Orlando office for team meetings and possible travel to key industry conferences or international company meetings, when appropriate.
Total Compensation Range (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):
- $171,400 - $231,900
