We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Finance team as a Financial Performance Manager for the Retail Protection business. In this role, you will provide valuable support to the business and assist with the ongoing management and optimisation of financial results, including IFRS17.
This will include ensuring that the performance of the Retail Protection business is continuously monitored against key metrics, that robust financial controls and procedures are observed, and that relevant Financial Performance MI is provided as required.

This is a hybrid working opportunity that can be based from any of our Flagship UK Offices (London, Cardiff, or Hove), allowing you to work from both your home and the office to find a work/life balance that suits you.
What you'll be doing:
- Monitoring the ongoing financial performance of the Retail Protection business against key metrics.
- Leveraging financial insights/data to recommend appropriate management actions and, where appropriate, challenging stakeholders on strategic and commercial decisions.
- Supporting the development of the financial analytical capabilities within the team to help understand and optimise key drivers of financial performance.
- Ensuring the timely production and communication of financial results, ensuring that they meet all group and regulatory standards.
- Reporting relevant MI to the business as required.
- Ensuring that financial controls and procedures are observed.
- Ensuring that all analysis, decisions made, and activity undertaken considers the fair treatment of our customers.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- A Fully Qualified Actuary.
- Demonstrable experience working in a financial management/financial reporting environment (ideally within a Life office or consultancy) and having a good understanding/experience of various reporting metrics such as Solvency II & IFRS17.
- A broad understanding of Protection products, including the associated reporting metrics, risks, and regulatory frameworks – would be highly advantageous.
- Strong experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Prophet, and DCS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain technical results to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to draft technical documentation (e.g., assumption setting papers).
- Good influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to multi-task effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to work effectively both within a small team and independently as required.
Benefits
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
- Generous pension contribution.

- 27 days holiday, plus public holidays, with the option to buy and sell holiday.
- Competitive family leave.
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax-efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only).
- Many discounts for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online.
