The Centre of Competence Best Estimates & Pricing is responsible to provide a sustainable framework for customer tailored profitable pricings for Life and Health reinsurance business in Europe, Israel and Latin America. This includes risk adequate assumptions, advanced pricing and monitoring standards and cutting-edge tools supporting the pricing process (pricing landscape). In addition we support market pricing units with tailor-made reinsurance pricings, product development and further reinsurance services. We excel in keeping actuarial assumptions and methods for life and health insurance up to date. We leverage our close cooperation with experts on markets, risk management, data and medical science as well as with our international colleagues within Munich Re´s global Life and Health units.

We provide the market teams with state of the art infrastructure and standards for quantitative and qualitative assessments of R/I pricings for new business opportunities and monitoring of our inforce portfolio. We are thus ensuring essential support for our successful business development and quality assurance of our reinsurance portfolio.

We are looking for a Pricing Actuary (m/f/d) to strengthen the team for the development and maintenance of our Pricing Tools.

Your Job

  • Support the development of Pricing tools and R/I Pricing methodology; take an active role in the delivery processes consisting of requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, user acceptance testing, sign-off procedures together with colleagues from Client pricing
  • Cooperate with subject matter experts in pricing to identify key capabilities required as well as potential risks & issues and support the implementation of measures required
  • Structuring and modelling of reinsurance contracts and performing stochastic reinsurance pricings in order to support business decisions
  • Drive or participate in agile projects and initiatives supporting our business strategy
  • Consulting and training of colleagues and cedents
  • Close collaboration with client pricing and business units, as well as with central units IT, Corporate Underwriting and Valuation

Your Profile

  • Very good degree in mathematics, actuarial science or comparable qualification, membership in the DAV or a comparable foreign Association of Actuaries
  • Working experience in primary insurance or reinsurance in the areas of pricing
  • Experience in development with C#, JAVA or similar and with SQL databases
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps and PowerShell is a plus
  • Good knowledge of insurance modelling software AXIS, Prophet or similar helpful
  • Very good analytical skills and ability to comprehend complex actuarial issues and explain to others
  • Creativity and ability to develop new solutions/concepts
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, customer orientation, responsibility and motivation
  • Very good presentation and trainer skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, basic command of German required; good command of Spanish is of advantage
