The opportunity

QBE’s global actuarial community is continuing on a programme of strategic change, with a focus on enhanced insight into business performance and decision-making.

This is a unique opportunity to join QBE’s Group Actuarial team as a manager in a non-traditional, varied, and dynamic global role and to contribute to the key foundational objectives of the team.

Your new role

This is a unique opportunity to join QBE’s Group Actuarial team in a non-traditional, forward-looking and to contribute on a wide range of actuarial key objectives.

You will be involved in global financial impact assessments, support the design and implementation of process and analytics frameworks, support and help enhance QBE’s reporting, and participate in a range of analytics initiatives, including those relating to performance, volatility, capital, reinsurance, planning and stress & scenario analysis.

You will interact regularly with the wider QBE finance community, collaborating to develop better insights into business performance and trends.

About you

  • Significant prior experience in a similar role, ideally within the Insurance sector
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities and an ability to work independently and systematically through complex matters
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact across a variety of teams, and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic answers to complex questions
  • A commercial mindset, an understanding and interest in an insurance company’s financial performance drivers An intellectual curiosity to learn, and courage to challenge assumptions and processes
  • An excellent team player with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Previous experience in a similar role, working towards or completed actuarial fellowship exams
