Purpose of the Role

As an Actuarial Valuation Manager, you will be responsible for quality assurance, monitoring and ensuring implementation of good controls in Actuarial processes, preparation of process documentation, liaise with stakeholders and take the lead for the actuarial function holder report, monitoring/closing of internal and external Audit action items. You will also assist the Chief Actuary in new product reviews and close contact with Pricing/Valuation team.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Assist Chief Actuary in maintaining and implementing the Model Governance, Reserves Committee, and other valuation policies; and ensuring sound controls are implemented for key actuarial processes.
  • Manage Model Change process from identification of planned model changes to facilitating CA sign-off and proper documentation.
  • Manage Reserves Committee reporting and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate any internal/external/regulator Audits or Reviews of Actuarial and manage process to close all Audit action items before due dates.
  • Produce documentation for key actuarial processes (IFRS17, Local reporting, other technical provisions) and responsible for the preparation of actuarial function holder report.
  • Assist Chief Actuary in reviewing new products being developed: assumptions, pricing models, policy contracts, regulatory submissions.
  • Assist Chief Actuary in review of new products for alignment with reporting/valuation and following sound actuarial principles.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation of key Actuarial processes related to technical provisions.
  • Assist in major Actuarial Valuation Deliverables: SD/ PD, Assumptions Review, Special Projects
  • Responsible for the preparation of actuarial function holder report.

Requirements for the Role

  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in Finance, Risk, or Actuarial area; preferably Associate of an actuarial association.
  • Strong analytical skills, and independent thinking
  • Actuarial and risk qualifications
  • Strong actuarial modelling experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
