Actuarial Analyst - Actuarial Reporting and Analysis

Location: London

About the role

We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to support the delivery and analysis of the Group’s actuarial reporting requirements (IFRS, Solvency II and reinsurance reporting). You will support the development and maintenance of these actuarial reporting metrics and support the delivery of actuarial analysis to support the objectives of the Finance, ALM, Capital and Investment teams.

Responsibilities

  • To support and perform production of Group actuarial reports and relevant analysis, including IFRS and Solvency II, and deliver reinsurer reporting requirements in line with Group treaties
  • To support and perform the review of methodologies and assumptions deployed in actuarial systems used to fulfil the team’s objectives
  • To develop and improve the modelling methodologies and reporting tools used and test reporting tools developed by the IT function and Actuarial Systems team
  • To develop and improve the reporting processes used for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes
  • To input into the development of responses to requests from UK regulators and other third parties
  • To operate a robust control framework for the production of results including maintaining appropriate documentation and compliance with relevant requirements (including TASs)

Skills & Experience

  • Working towards becoming a member of IFoA and/or intention to join
  • Completion of some CB/CM/CS stage exams
  • Knowledge of insurance products and markets, including UK reporting regulations
  • Able to assess materiality of issues and determine appropriate course of action
  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex concepts to more senior members of the team
  • Good problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Awareness of the products and services provided by the Group
  • Working knowledge of relevant business processes
