Actuarial Manager - Annuities & Protection

National salary £85,000 - £90,000

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Actuarial Manager to join our team, you will have one direct report. This is a great job for a career driven Actuary with an in-depth knowledge of Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) and who wishes to excel in the career working with The UK’s leading Insurance, Retirement and wealth business!

Our Insurance & Retirement Insights team are responsible for the review and analysis of all reporting requirements for the Insurance and Retirement business units. This is to drive reporting and performance insights, support submissions to time coupled with cost and quality as required by external and internal collaborators and whilst staying in sync with policies & regulations.

A bit about the job:

The initial focus of the role will be on implementing (BPA) member options in our reporting ahead of YE24 but also include implementing change around BPA Megadeals and improving the analysis of protection financials. As the world around us changes it is critical that we keep pace with changes in the business and wider finance function to continue to provide great insight to our internal business partners. This role will lead on implementing this change in the following ways:

  • Developing/influencing the methodology and assumptions
  • Designing and implementing short-term solutions to implement change in our results
  • Helping shape and design strategic long-term solutions

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Actuary
  • A good understanding of bulk-purchase annuity
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or Solvency II reporting systems
  • Good level of Actuarial experience and the ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity
  • Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex ideas to a broad range of audiences

What you’ll get for this role:

  • National salary £85,000 - £95,000, London salary £90,000 - £110,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
