Employee Benefits Valuation Actuary (Remote)

Equitable is looking for an Employee Benefits Valuation Actuary to join our team. Our Employee Benefits (Group Insurance) line of business started in 2015 and is one of the fastest growing businesses that now includes Long Term and Short Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, Group Life and Waiver of Premium, Hospital Indemnity, Accident, Critical Illness, Vision and Dental. This position will perform Employee Benefits GAAP and Statutory valuation. It will also be a key contributor to assumption setting, model development, and regulatory filings.
Key Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform GAAP and Statutory valuation on quarterly basis
- Perform experience studies and set valuation assumptions to reflect emerging experience
- Maintain actuarial models and perform model development
- Prepare Statutory Year-End filings
Hours of Operation: This role will need to work during EST time zone. The base salary range for this position is $117,000 - $170,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility. For eligible employees, Equitable provides a full range of benefits. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field
- 5 years of actuarial work experience in financial reporting
- ASA designation or exam progression towards actuarial accreditation
- Established technical skills (Excel modeling)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Group Insurance/Employee Benefits products, specifically Long-Term Disability highly desired
- Insurance company financial knowledge

Insurance Products: Knowledge of insurance products, product groups and services; ability to apply the knowledge of products and services appropriately to diverse situations, including but not limited to marketing development and product consulting.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Statistics and Actuarial Modeling: Knowledge of statistical and actuarial modeling tools and techniques; ability to apply modeling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions.
