Purpose: The purpose of this role is to undertake pricing and actuarial input required to support the delivery of the DB Business Plan. This includes all aspects of BAU delivery and other ad hoc requirements.

About the role:

• Helping support senior DB pricing team members in accurate and timely delivery of new business quotations.
• Populate and run pricing models to calculate premiums, including manipulation of data, assumption setting, and calculation of all associated pricing metrics.
• Produce initial drafts of internal sign-off documentation and quotation documents.
• Develop sound knowledge of all systems and tools used in DB pricing.
• Provide support in ad hoc tasks such as data analysis, proposition developments, systems testing, and process improvements.
• Proactively work to promote a culture of collaboration and engagement within the DB Pricing team.

Qualifications: Working towards FIA qualification

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong numeracy skills
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel and programming
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal and team working skills
• Strong communication skills
• Understanding of actuarial principles and techniques
• Familiarity with DB pension scheme benefits and regulation is desirable
• Familiarity with life insurance principles and regulation is desirable

Experience: Experience of working within a pension consultancy or life insurance company is desirable but not essential.
