Aviva is hiring an

Actuarial Reporting Manager

Actuarial Reporting Manager

Salary: up to £75,000

We are currently recruiting for an Actuarial Reporting Manager to be a part of our forward-thinking Capital Reporting team. This is a phenomenal opportunity to be involved with the delivery and validation of the Solvency II Internal Model results for Aviva’s UK Life business and helping to present the key messages to senior stakeholders.

This role could be ideal for you if you are a qualified or part qualified Actuary, with Life insurance and reporting experience, along with an interest to learn and expand your knowledge in capital reporting.

You will be provided with the opportunity to challenge your current skills, implement changes for capital reporting within Aviva, and work with the North Star team to develop and improve the processes.

Outside of the regular reporting cycles, the position supports initiatives and deliverables across the wider Capital Reporting department, which adds variety to the role and opportunities to enhance your skills.

A bit about the job:

The role is part of the wider Capital Reporting team, managing processes to deliver quarterly Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) results and other Internal Model validation tests.

This enables the business to understand and manage key risks and to make better decisions.

As one of the Actuarial Reporting Managers, you will supervise junior members in the team, work with other areas of Finance to produce the quarterly SCR in line with Aviva’s Internal Model methodology, and review results presented to senior collaborators.

In addition, you will also be involved in the fit and validation of Aviva’s Internal Model including loss function fitting, Multi-Risk Scenario Validation (MRSV), and other tests that form part of UK Life’s validation framework.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Life insurance and reporting experience (understanding/knowledge with Solvency II) as well as some IM4 and VBA knowledge is desirable, but not essential as training and support is available
  • Good understanding with planning and running a process end-to-end to ensure timely delivery of high-quality financial results and analysis
  • Ability to analyse complex information, and to consult on and make judgements about financial results
  • Risk and control focus to ensure correct and insightful outputs
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders across the Finance function and wider business, including presentation of results to senior stakeholders

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Salary: up to £75,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools
