Swiss Re is hiring an

Actuarial Analyst

We are looking for a self-motivated actuarial student who is enthusiastic about gaining exposure in reinsurance pricing activities for APAC ex. China markets. This role also involves operations of various functions outside of reinsurance pricing such as Valuation & Risk Management.

About the Role

  • Take part in the implementation of relevant strategic pricing/product priorities for APAC ex. China markets.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement in process optimization.
  • Provide pricing support to local teams, including quotation & financial solutions delivery, forward-looking pricing techniques development, and new product development consultancy.
  • Assist in the improvement of actuarial feedback loops across various functions e.g. Risk Management, Steering & Portfolio Monitoring, and Valuation.

About the Team

The Life & Health Pricing Office APAC ex. China is an exciting regional team covering pricing operations of multiple countries in Asia. Team members come from various countries and work closely with a wide range of functional teams including the pricing community, risk management, and valuation within APAC ex. China.

About You

We are looking for an open-minded and enthusiastic team player who can constructively and respectfully engage in challenging conversations. To be successful, you need to have strong technical analytical skills and communication & negotiation skills to manage various stakeholders' expectations.

  • 3+ years' actuarial experience with a strong technical understanding of L&H re/insurance.
  • In good actuarial examination progress of a recognized actuarial body (SOA/CAS/IOA/FOA/FIA or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, R/Python, or any other coding language.
  • Able to summarize & communicate complex technical details with non-experts.
  • Good knowledge of multiple markets insurance products within Asia is preferable.
