What the day will look like:

  • Delegate and coach more junior colleagues
  • Review work for both accuracy and reasonability
  • Provide technical leadership to clients and play a significant role in client meetings
  • Communicate on technical topics with clients
  • Be proactive in initiating and leading discussions
  • Master basic technical concepts and apply them to broader assignments

How this opportunity is different:

Successful candidates will focus primarily on working with new and existing clients on actuarial strategy for pension plans and broader consulting on retirement plans.

Colleagues in this role are expected to lead key client relationships and maintain leadership of a strong local client team located in Irvine, CA.

Candidates are expected to have a strong background in technical aspects of pension and retiree medical valuations and experience working in strategic project areas, including settlements, plan design, funding strategy, and pension de-risking.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • 5+ years of retirement actuarial work experience
  • Significant experience and expertise with pension and retiree medical plans
  • ASA, FSA, or EA Credentials; will consider candidates in the exam process
  • Ability to work under pressure of fixed deadlines
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or equivalent years of industry experience

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $115k-$125k annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
