Purpose

We currently have a fantastic opportunity available to join our Retail Actuarial Team as an Actuarial Assistant on a 12 month FTC. We are looking for someone with strong numerical and spreadsheet experience, suitable for a recent graduate or school leaver with Maths based A level looking to start their career in a Pricing/Actuarial role, or an administrator looking to gain experience in a Financial Service/Actuarial team.

This role would suit someone who is organised, diligent and can work accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle requests for technical assistance from Operations and Sales, with appropriate support from Actuarial Analysts as required.
• Operate daily processes, such as generation of uploads to the company’s administration platform using the team’s systems and following its practices.
• Produce MI in line with the team’s practices.
• Depending on the individual’s experience, make proposals for improvements to processes and develop an ability to comment on outputs and identify noteworthy aspects.
• Maintain records of activities and report on these.

Skills And Experience

• Must be numerate, ideally with a minimum A level in maths or a strongly maths-based subject.
• Proven experience or qualifications in Excel and/or other Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication skills, oral and written.
• Well organised, with the ability to develop and document administrative processes.
• Ability to develop good product knowledge and understanding as experience develops.
• Service ethos.
• Team player, with a strong desire to support the development of a successful business.
• Experience in Financial Service or Pricing Team is desirable but not essential.
