Actuarial Analyst

Pricing Associate:

In this role, you will work as a member of the North America Life & Health Pricing Support Team based in Bangalore. We are a global team responsible for enabling and monitoring the pricing of the North American individual mortality business. This position will focus on Canadian and Caribbean business and may include exposure to other lines of business such as critical illness, medical, or disability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform Pricing Peer Reviews for New Business, Inforce and Structured deals prior to client delivery of the offer.
  • Support the costing team with running models and rate proposals as needed.
  • Prepare recent pricing wins for incorporation into the Valuation model through New Business Induction Process.
  • Construct and update models to current best estimate assumptions for the annual Open Treaty Review process used in portfolio monitoring and margin management.
  • Provide sign-off on Regression Testing to ensure the in-house Pricing Tool 'ICE' works as expected.
  • Co-ordinate with team members on Costing Assumptions, Reserving, and Regulatory Capital updates.
  • Collaborate with the Integrated Costing Environment (ICE) developers to test and deploy changes for the Pricing team.
  • Own AXIS version upgrade for Canada and Caribbean AXIS Templates to keep it aligned to valuation and maintain AXIS Version Control Datasets.
  • Engage with US focused counterpart to promote best practices for North America.
  • Develop business acumen to become a source of technical knowledge and advice.

Position Requirements:

  • Successfully completed a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Cleared at least 3-5 Actuarial papers from IFoA UK or IAI Mumbai.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a Life Insurance Company.
  • Programming/Software skills particularly in MS Excel – VBA, GGY AXIS, Python/R, and SQL are a plus.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written English communication skills along with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Shows initiative in learning Actuarial Concepts in a practical environment and supporting other team members and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and follow processes, demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, professionalism, and deliver work product with high integrity, quality, and on time.
  • Communicate frequently with Canada and other stakeholders.
