Our Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally.
About the role
What you need to know:
The candidate will be a key member of the APAC Actuarial team, based in the Hong Kong office. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with Taiwan & Hong Kong year-end Actuarial Report, USGAAP, local statutory reserving work, external audit, and peer reviews with the utmost accuracy
- Assist with implementation of IFRS 17 reporting
- Assist with preparation and review on capital and solvency projection
- Provide support to the Regional all lines budget loss ratio exercise
- Assist with Regional pricing work
- Keep abreast of local regulatory requirements
- Strong ownership in improving process efficiency
What we are looking for:
- Candidate with Mathematics/Actuarial/Statistics/Economics or any related degree background
- Familiarity with traditional actuarial techniques and models a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as take responsibility for individual contributions
- Eye for detail
- Utmost integrity
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize own work
- Effective time management and strong communication skills
- Ability to forge relationships with other areas of the business
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, VBA
- Knowledge in R, Python, SQL a plus
