Make your mark in Actuarial
Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing, and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage, and mitigate risk.
How you will create an impact
Responsibilities:
- Define technical provisions for Insurance and Reinsurance Company for Commercial and Consumer lines products in Local Gaap and USGAAP.
- Monitor reserves level for Insurance and Reinsurance Company for Commercial and Consumer lines products in Local Gaap and USGAAP.
- Monitor Loss Ratio Tendencies, Frequencies, and Severities.
- Identify, create, and monitor action plans needed to improve portfolio profitability.
- Identify, investigate, and explain variances to financial plans related to forecasts by interpreting financial results.
- Analyze quarterly studies of IBNR to manage loss ratio by products and help each Profit Center create action plans.
- Create all the financial statements notes related to the actuarial work.
- Attend all USGAAP Reports and activities.
- Run Local GAAP Liability Adequacy Test Required by Regulator.
- Define the risk appetite (retention per risk).
- Assess, monitor, and report the capital level (current and projection).
- Write the Annual Appointed Actuary Report to the regulator commenting on the external actuarial audit report.
- Ensure accuracy on actuarial databases.
- Manage the external audit process.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial (MIBA is required).
- Senior experience in reserving techniques to monitor, identify, and anticipate loss ratios tendencies, portfolio behavior, and measure P&L impacts.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to develop and present clear and concise analysis and recommendations to senior management.
- Willing and able to continuously learn and adapt in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
- Advanced English Skills.
