Start your career with Hannover Re
The UK Graduate programme is one of the best ways of starting a career at Hannover Re, the third-largest reinsurer in the world. At Hannover Re, you’ll find that we are not like other reinsurers. We are more flexible, more innovative, and less afraid to challenge conventional wisdom. This unique development opportunity, based at our London office, gives graduates valuable work experience and extensive insights into the wide-ranging day-to-day business and challenging projects of an internationally successful reinsurer with an anticipated start date of autumn 2025.
About the programme
The four-year programme is aimed at attracting talented graduates (including those about to graduate) with a minimum of an upper second class (2:1) degree in a mathematical subject and a keen interest in taking ownership of our company's success from the start.
Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to rotate through key departments according to business needs such as:
- Biometric Research
- Business Development
- Corporate Actuarial
Business Development
Mutually profitable long-term partnerships are at the heart of our business development strategy. From engaging directly with clients to pricing new opportunities, graduates will support us in delivering a wide range of innovative solutions and services. Focusing on one of three areas, protection, longevity or financial solutions, graduates will gain a range and depth of experience using the latest actuarial and data science techniques.
Biometric Research
We believe better intelligence supports better decisions – which is why our Biometric Research team is known for the scope and quality of its medical and market research. Graduates will learn the value of data, using the latest research in health and medicine to price more accurately and manage our risks.
Corporate Actuarial
By putting a value on our business, graduates will learn what really drives our profitability. We use the latest actuarial modelling software to project future cash flows of our business for reporting, and to provide management information used to steer our business. Graduates will also help to ensure we are ahead of the latest regulatory and accounting developments.
