The Global Casualty and Fin Pro actuarial team within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is looking to hire an individual to take on the Actuarial lead for Global Executive Risk D&O portfolios.

This role offers a blend of technical leadership and business acumen. The individual in this position will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of (sub)portfolio performance, loss drivers, and trends for each product. You will work closely with various product owners to develop and implement portfolio strategy.

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Product Responsibility: for Global E&O and D&O pricing support
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with underwriting leadership to support strategy development and prioritize execution strategies across the broader NA Casualty and FinPro portfolio. Partner with the portfolio leader to monitor and evaluate existing and new opportunities efficiently to support both growth and remediation activity.
  • Analytical driven decision making: responsible for portfolio profitability reflecting the latest market dynamics, rate and loss experience. You will develop initiatives to understand the drivers of profitability using actuarial segmentation analyses and work with the business stakeholders to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Pricing tool development: Take ownership of the Pricing framework and ensure both effectiveness and oversight. Lead the development of Swiss Re's market leading pricing models, ensure these models are calibrated accurately to reflect the latest experience and trends, and work with technology to implement these tools to support underwriting decision making.
  • Team: Leadership, development, and coaching of a team of 3 members

About You:

  • Minimum 10 years of actuarial experience, including significant time spent pricing general and/or professional liability products
  • ACAS/FCAS designation required
  • D&O pricing experience preferred
  • Critical skills:
    • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
    • Ability to drive team performance
    • Strong organizational skills and internal drive to push projects forward
    • Curiosity to understand "what" the data is saying and "why"
    • Interest in developing data-based strategic actions with portfolio owners
    • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical colleagues
    • Creativity to consider actuarial problems in new ways
