Purpose To support the company's ambitious growth plans, we are recruiting a DB Systems Analyst to join our DB (Defined Benefit) System Development team. This role supports Just’s DB Pricing platform by building, developing, and maintaining databases and models used for pricing calculations of defined benefit bulk annuities. Your contributions will enhance the scalability of our Pricing platform, supporting the DB team to provide reliable, comprehensive, and market-leading solutions to our clients.
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute as a member of the DB System Development team responsible for developing and maintaining our Pricing platform.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and enhance the processes of the DB Core Pricing team.
- Develop a deep technical knowledge of all systems, tools, and coding languages used in DB Systems Development.
- Work closely with the DB Core Pricing team to gather requirements and specifications for model development, testing, and validation.
- Ensure model developments are embedded effectively.
- Collaborate with the DB Strategic Development team to ensure interoperability of the Pricing and Data platforms.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Finance and Reporting, the DB Data and Transitions, and DB Operations teams.
- Work with key internal stakeholders to ensure delivery timescales are communicated effectively.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and engagement across the DB Pricing & Reinsurance team.
- Be curious, proactive, and open to new ideas, demonstrating a track record of adapting to change and embracing technology.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Enthusiasm and a keenness to learn and collaborate with the team and wider business.
- Familiarity with programming languages for financial modelling, for example: Julia, Python, R, or VBA.
Desirable:
- 2.1 or above in a technical/mathematical degree.
- Familiarity with databases, i.e. SQL, Access.
- Understanding of automated testing and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of UK Defined Benefit pension schemes and the DB buy in/buy out market.
- Sound knowledge of technical actuarial concepts or financial economics.
- Experience working within the financial or professional services industry.
- Experience of working with cloud-based or distributed computing.
