Corporate Actuarial Senior Analyst
About the Role:
- Deliver quarterly valuation results for ASIA business to the relevant Reporting Actuaries, ownership of other reserving tasks such as capital calculations, assumption setting/testing, Sensitivities, Recapture of business etc.
- Access the credibility of data for modelling purpose.
- Perform user acceptance testing upon new Moses model release.
- Ownership around ensuring quality and completeness of the data provided by the technical accounting team for quarterly valuation purpose.
- Support Asia region on Regulatory, Branch and SwissRe initiative projects.
- Projects related to ASIA business such as System Process and Landscape developments, Moses model improvements, data flow automation, IFRS accounting standards implementation etc.
- Ownership and maintenance of current ASIA models along with implementing any changes or corrections going forward.
- Interface with Data Management team for data requirements.
- RAFM MCoE team on model maintenance & Improvement.
- Valuation landscape management with IT and other relevant functions.
About the Team:
Asia L&H Valuation team in Bangalore supports valuation and modelling pertaining to different regions where we operate. The team also supports various Business valuation and landscape migration projects. The team currently has close to 35 resources supporting different market/project streams.
About You:
- 2+ years of experience in Actuarial.
- Strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle both conceptual and practical issues.
- Prior experience in L&H valuation or pricing experience in reinsurance or primary insurance is desirable, but not essential.
- Prior actuarial modelling experience with actuarial modelling systems is preferred. Moses experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Good verbal and written communication skills especially of complex and quantitative topics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint (knowledge of SQL and VBA will be considered an advantage).
- Ability to understand and apply actuarial best practice (setting up models, documentation, governance, analysis, testing etc).
- Ability to support senior team members with resolving complex problems by debugging and unit testing.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks accordingly.
