Senior Pricing & Products Actuary (L&H Hybrid 80%-100%)

About the Role
As the Senior Pricing & Products Actuary L&H reporting to the Head Pricing & Products L&H Continental Europe, you will manage the technical and actuarial aspects of relationships with distribution partners, primarily in Germany but also supporting other active markets (the Netherlands and Italy).
You will be responsible for pricing, referral and final sign-off for both existing and newly developed insurance products. Additionally, you will prepare end-customer premium rates and ensure that these rates are correctly implemented in the respective administration systems.
Together with the Insurance Product and Literature manager in Germany, you will ensure that our insurance propositions (Products and Pricing) deliver good customer value.
You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining the pricing assumption basis for our German business. You will work together with the Distribution team to steer the business performance and manage distribution partners.
Collaborating with our close-knit German Partner Core Team, you will work closely with various experts including Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Operations, Valuation and Risk Management.
Furthermore, you will support and review pricing work carried out by other pricing actuaries for different markets across EMEA.
Key responsibilities are:
- Delivering pricing, referral and final sign-off of German protection products (Term Life, Whole of Life, and associated rider benefits) balancing commercial and customer value.
- Driving Business Cases and new partnerships, in collaboration with the Distribution team.
- Contributing to product development, design, and expansion.
- Creating and updating costing tools/models.
- Specifying and testing products.
- Monitoring the current portfolio.
- Reviewing customer literature and distribution contracts.
About the Team
We are a diverse, talented group of people, who deliver L&H primary insurance proposition (Product development and Pricing) in multiple countries. The Pricing & Products L&H Continental Europe team consists of 6 colleagues based across 4 locations in Europe.
About You
Essentials
- You are a qualified actuary with extensive experience in life protection product pricing and product development in (re)insurance across Europe.
- You have a passion for collaborating with international colleagues in a culturally diverse setting.
- You have a commercial and innovative mind-set to drive growth. You are a self-motivated person and comfortable balancing multiple projects.
- You are knowledgeable about the legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks governing primary life insurance in various European markets.
- You are fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice to Haves
- You have a consumer-focused mindset, experience with external clients/distributors, and a strong passion about the needs of customers.
- You are adaptable and thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Speaking additional European languages like German, Dutch, Italian, or French would be a plus.
