Aon Is Looking For a Health Actuarial Analyst
Aon is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to serve clients within our private healthcare marketplace, the Aon Benefit Experience (BenX). The BenX is growing and it is an exciting time to be part of the team dedicated to serving our clients and partners within this industry leading solution.
Location: New York, Hybrid
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial modeling (including quality review) of medical and dental quoted rates vs. self-insured projections
- Data collection and review: feasibility studies; annual RFP process
- Checking and quality control
- Initial RFP analysis (including actuarial value modeling) to assist with pricing and negotiation
- Defined Contribution modeling
- Will work within the team to make plan recommendations, subsidy recommendations, set funding requirements for Self Insured clients, etc.
- Participation in Health & Benefits practice sponsored and external training, to grow consulting acumen
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires keeping up with multiple deadlines at the same time
- Ability to step into a lead analyst role with potential to transition to a client-facing role after learning requirements on the job
- Manages priorities, communicates potential delays, and delivers results on time
- Proactively accepts new projects when they become available
Required Experience:
- 2 years of health and welfare experience (carrier or employer consulting)
- Understands health insurance concepts, underwriting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Progress towards ASA designation
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Preferred Experience:
- Has been included in presentations to company leaders or external customers
- History of working on complex, mathematically oriented projects
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics & Business, or related fields.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $85k-$105k annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
