Internal Control Assurance Manager (P&C or L&H Actuary)

About the Role

As an Actuarial Internal Control Assurance Manager in ICAR, you will participate in various control testing activities. You will have the opportunity to learn about many areas of Swiss Re, as well as their processes and controls.

This role offers you an opportunity to deal with impactful themes and exposure to Swiss Re's Management.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Perform and review design and operating effectiveness testing on internal controls
• Discuss findings with key stakeholders
• Support ICAR's central team on planning, execution and reporting of ICAR assurance cycles
• Coach and mentor ICAR junior team members

About You

You are a results-oriented individual able to work independently, plan well and deliver results in time. A good communicator, you manage to maintain trust while delivering difficult messages.

You are a motivated, collaborative team player who is nimble and adaptable, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams and independently at the same time.

Additional requirements include:

• 5-8+ years of work experience in the insurance and/or reinsurance industry, with exposure to assurance functions like risk management, internal or external audit.
• Nearly qualified or qualified Life & Health or Property & Casualty actuary (must).
• Experience and solid knowledge of L&H or P&C (re)insurance, and its governance, risks, and controls, particularly in L&H or P&C reserving and/or costing methodology for respective lines of business.
• Knowledge/experience of IFRS 17 and sound understanding of key business processes and controls over financial reporting value chain.
• Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals).
• Strong analytical professional with problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

About the Team

The Internal Control Assurance & Reporting (ICAR) Team is a global team of Assurance Professionals, responsible for assessing the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of Swiss Re's internal controls.

We liaise closely with Operational Risk Management, Group Internal Audit, Governance Teams, External Audit and Swiss Re Senior Management.

Through our controls testing and assurance activities, we identify areas of control weaknesses and contribute to an improved control framework to ensure operational rigor and effective control related behavior across the Swiss Re Group.
