About the Role
- In this client-facing position as a Client Manager and/or Pricing Actuary, you will:
- Support sales origination (including face-to-face interactions) with responsibility for developing and managing the relationship and client strategy with assigned clients.
- Prepare reinsurance proposals, working closely with other departments like underwriting, claims, and contracts & wordings to facilitate the resolution of potential business issues.
- Advise assigned clients on the full spectrum of Swiss Re products and differentiating solutions to meet their strategic growth aspirations and Swiss Re’s business objectives.
- Develop L&H reinsurance quotes, ensuring compliance with internal standards, rules, and processes of Swiss Re.
- Leverage client knowledge to identify, investigate, and resolve issues with business that is believed to be performing other than originally expected.
In a nutshell, the position is responsible for gaining and applying the knowledge necessary to create and price winning solutions that exceed client expectations and set Swiss Re apart from our competitors.
About the Team
The Life & Health Nordics, Austria & CEE team looks after a very large and diverse area covering more than 20 countries as well as a full range of risk products including life, accident, disability, critical illness, medical treatment abroad, and long-term care.
You will be based in Munich and work closely with colleagues from other locations, mainly Copenhagen, Bratislava, and Zurich. You will report to the Head of Life & Health Austria, CEE & Nordics who is also based in Munich.
About You
We are looking for YOU - an individual performer with a team spirit, commercial mindset, and passion to interact with clients, crafting and maintaining positive, trustful, and constructive relationships.
You have a can-do approach, think outside the box, and are not afraid to take charge of a situation. You meet the following technical requirements:
- A thorough knowledge of actuarial concepts and principles in Life & Health (re-)insurance, as well as a high-level understanding of Life & Health products (like term life, disability, and critical illness), such as that obtained by:
- Ideally being a fellow of an actuarial association and/or
- University degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Life & Health (re-)insurance position (actuarial or commercial).
- Proven financial and analytical skills; ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Full proficiency in English and in any Eastern European language, most preferably Polish.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel, ideally with programming knowledge (in e.g., VBA, R, Python).
