The Actuarial Technician is primarily responsible for data analysis & organization as it pertains to the Actuarial and Underwriting functions, including for individual account pricing and broader pricing analyses. This role will have a high level of interaction within both the Underwriting and Actuarial teams in support of pricing large and complex Public Entity risks.

  • Support the Underwriting team in scrubbing, organizing, and analyzing account specific loss and exposure data to aid in pricing large individual risks.
  • Assist in regular preparation and analysis of proprietary statistical data to inform loss costs, severity distributions, and other pricing considerations.
  • Interface with Underwriting and Actuarial departments to ensure data quality standards are met.
  • Assist in the development/maintenance/distribution of actuarial reports and databases.
  • Provide support in the analysis of various segments of the business for claim trends & profitability.
  • Assist the Pricing Actuary with various data requests and pricing analyses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent work experience).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent capability to organize and analyze various forms of statistical data.
  • Some actuarial / applicable problem-solving experience preferred.
  • 2-5+ years relevant work experience.
