Actuarial Analyst I

Assist the Actuarial team by performing premium and loss reserving calculations, research, and other actuarial analyses. Provide data and analytic expertise to support actuarial services including financial reporting, trend analysis, utilization studies, rate development, and claims liability estimates.

Key functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Contribute to the design, construction, and implementation of tools and processes for assessing rate adequacy.
  • Assist in the assessment of rate level adequacy for the Company’s various lines of business.
  • Develop data sets for analytics and reporting. Participate in predictive modeling efforts and recommend enhancements for analysis and company processes.
  • Support the Company’s rating plans, rates, factors, and pricing tools, including providing actuarial support for state filings.
  • Contribute to the production and improvement of reports for Corporate and internal customers.
  • Assist with loss/loss adjustment expense reserve analysis on a quarterly basis.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math/statistics, economics, finance, or other related disciplines.
  • 2+ Casualty Actuarial Exams completed and a commitment to completing the CAS exam process.
