Description and Requirements

This position will be a member of the product’s actuarial services team responsible for multi-team support for all mathematical and other necessary functions. This position will assist in a variety of initiatives including special project pricing support, experience study support, and advanced complex business support calculations.

This will involve summarizing financial experience and current in-force data, and assisting with all testing initiatives and valuation team support.

This position includes functions necessary to obtain approvals from state insurance departments for LTC rate increase filings and for assisting in the implementation of these rate increases.

A reporting function is to organize and communicate all report requests and document specs and assist in the delivery of quality and timely reports.

This position works closely with the LTC finance team, Operations and Valuation teams to produce quality reports, analytics, and metrics.

  • Assist in the calculations of complex insured requests including complaint responses.
  • Assist in all facets of our reporting functions which supports Operations and other teams.
  • Assist in pricing initiatives and analyze sensitivities of special product modifications.
  • Understand the issues related to implementation of the rate increases, as well as the applicability of increases to specific customers. Assist in the preparation of various communications about those issues.
  • Assist with filing support and filing objections.
  • Assist in all testing functions including administration system releases as well as rate increase testing.
  • Assist to assemble necessary experience study information required to develop and submit actuarial assumptions for the LTC product.

Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience in the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently with large amounts of data.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong technical expertise.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Access.
  • Motivated team player who is results oriented.

Preferred:

  • 3 actuarial exams are strongly desired; however, this is not a requirement for the position.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of financial reporting for insurance companies.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time-management skills.

The salary range for applicants for this position is $62,000-83,000.
