This role works closely with management and key business partners to develop and execute appropriate pricing, modeling, and product strategies of moderate complexity to support business goals.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Provides thought and/or technical leadership, including contributions to improvement, development, and innovation, and sometimes serves as a subject matter expert.</li><li>Uses best practices to determine appropriate analysis and performs moderate to highly complex analysis, using creative actuarial, statistical, and/or predictive modeling techniques, including proper documentation and evaluation, as appropriate to inform business decisions.</li><li>Leverages understanding of insurance business, products, markets, and regulatory environments in the creation of business strategies and decisions, building expertise within a specialized area.</li><li>Responsible for selecting, reviewing, using, and ensuring quality of data used to perform actuarial and statistical services and determination of appropriate tool utilization.</li><li>Communicates appropriateness of actuarial/modeling techniques and results to management and non-technical users to inform business decisions.</li><li>Plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes on projects that are moderate to high complexity and are of moderate scale using accepted project management standards; this work is primarily self-directed.</li><li>Mentors and/or supervises less experienced talent.</li></ul>Education<ul><li>4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>3 or more years of experience (Preferred)</li></ul>Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job may have supervisory duties.Education & Experience (in lieu)In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.SkillsCompensationCompensation offered for this role is $78,600.00 - 142,275.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.Joining our team isn't just a job - it's an opportunity. Working closely with experienced analytical professionals, you will be accountable for timely completion of assignments involving auto, homeowners, specialty lines or business insurance, contributing to overall growth and profit goals of major initiatives. This is a (home based-remote) virtual summer 2025 internship that will run for 12 weeks.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conducts reviews of rates for assigned states and product lines, analyzing profit and loss results, past and current trends, projecting underwriting losses and reviewing competitiveness of rates</li><li>Completes detailed analyses, makes recommendations, and prepares rate package proposals for key business partners</li><li>Prepares internal and external communications, including interactions with regulatory authorities and management that will describe and support rules and rate changes</li></ul>Job Qualifications:<ul><li>Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Graduate degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics or related field AND be in strong academic standing; must be a full time student the semester following the internship</li><li>Applicant must have completed an internship with Allstate in the last 12 months within the PAAS department.</li><li>Pursuing actuarial designation</li><li>Can analyze data and review analysis while demonstrating strong decision-making skills</li><li>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office: Intermediate - Excel, Intermediate - Word, Beginner - Outlook, Basic - PowerPoint; standard knowledge in the use of data sources</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li></ul>Compensation offered for this role is between $25 and $35 an hour and is based on experience and qualifications.Skills:<ul><li>Customer Centricity</li><li>Digital Literacy</li><li>Inclusive Leadership</li><li>Learning Agility</li><li>Results-Oriented</li></ul>Joining our team isn't just a job - it's an opportunity.
