What Success Looks Like:<ul><li>Ensures financial risks are managed through effective review, constructive challenge, and meaningful discussion with business leaders emphasizing transparent decision-making in alignment with the established risk management framework and governance. Establishes productive relationships with risk owners, ensures appropriate data-driven analysis supports decisions, and actively participates in risk governance forums.</li><li>Operates in a leadership capacity to communicate appropriate updates on financial risks to key internal and external stakeholders. Maintains a pulse on top financial risks to Transamerica and communicates messages targeted to specific audiences in a relatable, transparent way.</li><li>Represents Financial Risk in committees and provides opinion on issues based on independent analysis and insight. Be considered a subject matter expert within Risk and a respected partner for the business.</li><li>Support the maintenance of Global ERM framework, including risk methodology, financial risk policies, and risk strategy in defining risk preference and setting risk limits.</li><li>Lead the oversight and review of Capital initiatives and helps to embed capital management policy and playbook.</li><li>Provides oversight of existing Capital management practices, including monitoring results and conducting independent analysis.</li><li>Produces financial risk reporting to governance committees, Boards, and internal/external stakeholders.</li><li>Provides expertise and supports the business in analyzing financial risks in asset and product portfolios.</li><li>Acts as strategic business partner on financial risk topics.</li></ul>What You Need:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in finance, actuarial, economics, mathematics or other analytical field.</li><li>10 years of experience in risk management, financial management, actuarial or related specialization. Advanced degree or actuarial, data science or investment certifications may be substituted for up to three years of experience.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of insurance company financial performance and risk drivers including related topics such as reserve and capital frameworks, asset liability management, economic frameworks, derivatives, product pricing.</li><li>Forward Thinking - able to think strategically, place risks and decisions in context of strategic impacts, and anticipate emerging risks.</li><li>Communication - able to understand the audience and craft communication that effectively tells the story.</li><li>Analytical - able to understand complex problems, frame appropriate questions, and determine when analysis is sufficient to support decisions.</li><li>Decision Making - ability to integrate diverse perspectives to drive outcomes.</li><li>Clear evidence of influencing and relationship management skills throughout an organization.</li><li>Integrity to uphold risk management principles and mandates.</li><li>Able to challenge conventional practices and pursue continuous improvement.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Advanced degree in Finance, Actuarial, Economics, Mathematics or related area preferred.</li><li>Professional certifications e.g. FSA, CFA, CPA preferred.</li><li>Experience in an international corporate setting preferred.</li></ul>Compensation Information:The Salary for this position generally ranges between $180,000 - $210,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.This position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.

About the team:The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) department is responsible for providing meaningful financial and non-financial information to the Executive Board, Management Board, and Supervisory Board. They are also responsible for performance monitoring, cost control, and ad hoc analysis of business unit activities, balance sheet management of the Holding companies, and monitoring the capital position.The department works closely with other disciplines within the Corporate Center such as the Group Treasury, Group Risk, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, and Transformation Office. The team comprises of 4 team leads and 10 Analysts.Purpose of the job:The Actuarial Analyst will be flexibly deployed across the different Financial Planning and Analysis functions, Management Information, Business Analysis and Control, and Capital Management.Responsibilities:Management Information:<ul><li>Responsible for parts of financial and non-financial management information at Group level</li><li>Improve routine reporting and analysis to facilitate and highlight monthly financial variances, identifies trends vs. single events in the numbers</li><li>Provide information and analysis to leadership teams regarding financial aspects of the businesses to facilitate internal decision taking to drive business results</li><li>Identify and monitor key performance metrics. Look for changes needed to improve processes, systems and results</li><li>Perform ad hoc analysis requests from Senior Management and/or the Management Board</li><li>Assist in quarterly internal management reporting process (QBR/MBR and board reporting) and make sure good quality information is provided to Group Management Board and Supervisory Board</li><li>Assist in the coordination of the Monthly Business Review /Quarterly Business Review process with the Executive Boards and the business units (including agenda setting, availability of relevant management information)</li><li>Assist in the financial planning processes (BMTP/Forecasting), including development of short- and long-term plans and goals for Aegon and its subsidiaries</li></ul>Business Analysis and Control:<ul><li>Analyse, challenge and approve all strategic initiatives, that are assigned to you by the Business Analysis and Control (BA&amp;C) Lead, above a certain threshold in the Group</li><li>Assist Business Units in putting together high-quality business cases with clear objectives, milestones and deliverables</li><li>Close monitoring of the timely execution of the strategic initiatives that are assigned to you by the Business Analysis and Control (BA&amp;C) Lead, including the successful meeting of their financial objectives</li><li>Frequent reporting on the progress of these initiatives against targets to our boards</li><li>Perform ad hoc financial analysis into business unit activities</li><li>Support Merger &amp; Acquisition related finance support</li><li>Support in cost control activities for Corporate Center</li></ul>Capital Management:<ul><li>Work with Capital Management (CM) lead to advice management on optimal capital structure, capital allocation strategies and related financing options through use of forecasting models and capital consumption analytics<ul><li>Including active steer on remittances from business units to the Group</li><li>Dividends to shareholders</li></ul></li><li>Evaluate risks and benefits of the capital threats and initiatives of our business units</li><li>Prepare input for monthly and quarterly management information of the Group capital position</li><li>Take the lead in drafting dividend proposals</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Master’s degree within actuarial science, econometrics, mathematics, physics or another quantitative field</li><li>5-10 years of relevant work experience within a financial institution or financial consultancy</li><li>Experience of IFRS 17 and knowledge of the US insurance industry are considered a plus</li><li>Positive and pro-active team player, analytical and results driven</li><li>Experience in (setting up) financial models that are used in decision making processes</li><li>Experience in assessing and analyzing business performance, challenging business strategies, ability to present and interpret the results of the assessment, ability to conduct complex financial research autonomously</li><li>Excellent communication skills: providing information, listening, and most importantly, convincing</li><li>Proficient in English, both in writing and verbally</li><li>Excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills</li></ul>Personal Attributes:<ul><li>Strong analytical skills, team worker, self-assured, good communication skills</li><li>Can work independently</li><li>Accurate and detail-oriented worker</li><li>Curious yet practical – problem solver</li><li>Able to work within tight deadlines</li><li>Feels comfortable in changing environment</li><li>Strong commitment</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR</li><li>A healthy balance between working in and out of the office.
