We are an engaged and agile group of individuals with a distinct financial foresight and a flair for creativity and problem solving.By effectively applying our skills and collaborating across functions, we make a difference to our partners and generate value in our portfolio both for our clients and partners.About the RoleThis role provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate with various teams regionally and globally across the entire L&H business.In your role you will:<ul><li>Be the key partner for portfolio monitoring priorities in specific Continental European markets to identify and monitor key portfolio risks.</li><li>Carry out proactive monitoring of the L&H portfolio and execute management actions including in-force rate reviews and material recaptures.</li><li>Perform deep dive investigations to understand the drivers of performance and lead execution of relevant actions.</li><li>Structure and lead strategic projects with partners across L&H Re.</li><li>Use data analytics and visualisations to communicate portfolio performance, highlighting areas of concern and insights that steer business decisions.</li><li>Analyse and interpret financial results under various valuation methods used within Swiss Re.</li><li>Support the Chief Underwriting Officer review of Business unit Reserving Committee materials.</li><li>Be a driving force behind initiatives to further embed and optimise how we monitor the in-force portfolio as well as identify and execute management actions under IFRS.</li><li>Provide training and coaching in support of personal growth opportunities within the team and delivery of PSM objectives.</li></ul>Please note that this role is for a temporary period of 2 years.About You<ul><li>Qualified Actuary with an inquisitive, pragmatic and commercial mindset.</li><li>A minimum of 6 years working experience in the insurance/(re)insurance market.</li><li>Excellent understanding of various valuation methods including IFRS17.</li><li>Strong financial acumen, ability to interpret financial results and formulate tangible actions.</li><li>Experience in successfully leading projects of key strategic importance.</li><li>Analytical mindset with a passion for leveraging data and technology to steer business decisions. Experience with coding and data analytics tools (e.g. R, Power BI) would be an asset.</li><li>An independent and creative thinker with proven negotiation skills and an ability to constructively challenge.</li><li>Ability to think strategically combined with hands-on approach to get things done and deliver value to Swiss Re and our clients.</li><li>Excellent at networking, ability to engage and build positive relationships with various internal and external partners.</li><li>Fluency in an additional European language is a plus.</li></ul>We are looking forward to your application!We provide feedback to all candidates. This role requires an actuary who can combine pricing skills, strong data analysis, with good project and stakeholder management. Are you someone who leads and ensures consistent application of sound actuarial principles but is also willing to challenge the status quo? You will interact with a broad range of stakeholders across the Life and Health business and work in a global, cross-functional project team. This role is based in the Global Underwriting &amp; Claims &amp; R&amp;D team but will also have close links into the Chief Pricing Office.About the Role<ul><li>Be a part of driving key strategic projects such as metabolic health, and health and wellness.</li><li>Drive the pricing and data analysis for the R&amp;D focused projects.</li><li>Consult different market units on innovative opportunities and act as a sounding board for their actuarial considerations.</li><li>Help to drive forward actuarial thought leadership via project management, content creation and conference participation.</li><li>Act as an actuarial support for other key innovation projects such as AI, fraud and sustainability.</li><li>Collaborate with different MUs to develop their propositions through access to our global datasets.</li></ul>About the TeamThe Global UW &amp; Claims Innovation and Analytics team is an exciting global team within the Chief Underwriting Office. We're a cross functional team of underwriters, claims experts, actuaries, innovation and analytics experts with the remit to deliver projects or initiatives at a market or multiple-market level to improve the way we and/or our clients underwrite and manage claims. Our aim is to consult and engage with the Market Units (MUs) and clients to help deep-dive into, progress and deliver their initiatives by providing advice, technical support, global data insights and thought leadership aimed to improve client and customer outcomes. We also explore emerging technologies (including generative AI) and trends to develop new tools and services.About YouWe are looking for an open-minded, trustworthy and enthusiastic team player who can constructively and respectfully engage in challenging conversations. To be successful, you need to have strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills. Are you at ease with leaving the comfort zone and performing under pressure?
