L&H Closing Actuary
Job Description
The Closing Actuary supports processes related to:
- the best estimate review and valuation of SCOR’s life liabilities for the Group and Legal Entity used for the annual and quarterly SII EBS and IFRS17 BS.
- data on the risk exposure of the Group’s life portfolio for use in the calculation of required capital using the group’s internal model.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed validation and take on internal review of the actuarial modelling carried out for selected local life modelling teams.
- Quarterly update and analyse global economic assumptions used for the Life liabilities.
- Lead and support the quarterly production of SII and IFRS17 central adjustments.
- Provide input to the coordination of data delivery to Life Risk Modelling, Life Pillar 3, and other teams.
- Support the SII to IFRS17 alignment project.
- Prepare and provide reports according to IFRS17 and SII requirements.
- Support implementation of key process and data quality controls by local modelling entities.
- Analyse and present projected cash flow and risk data to develop relevant and clear management information.
- Support development of guidelines.
- Support development of the processes and controls of the team.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Multi-year specific work experience in (re)insurance with a focus on actuarial modelling and/or financial and risk analysis of life insurance/reinsurance products.
- Advanced IT skills of standard software (MS Office).
- Basic experience with database software (Python, SQL).

- Advanced analytical and mathematical skills.

Required Education
- University degree/Master degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science with the main focus on mathematics or equivalent.
- Preferably membership in actuarial association/qualified as an actuary or equivalency from a recognized organization.
