Director of Actuarial (US)
Position Title: Actuarial Director
Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person. Unless in a designated virtual-eligible role and specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process.
Job Description: The Actuarial Director identifies, evaluates, and responds to financial risks inherent in the pricing and development of health insurance products.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Prepares and interprets data and related formulae.
- Responsible for new product pricing for external clients.
- Serves on major, multi-function projects as Actuarial representative.
- Financial forecasts for multiyear contracts.
- Organizes and directs the staffing and workflow of the section.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 6 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- FSA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
- Strong actuarial pricing experience.
- Experience in government and commercial business.
- Ability to manage several complex products at one time.
- ASA with two extra years of Actuarial experience can substitute for the FSA.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $135,360.00 to $243,648.00.
Locations: California; Colorado; District of Columbia (Washington, DC), Nevada; New York; Washington State.
