Actuarial Director

Position Title: Actuarial Director
Location: Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.
The Actuarial Director completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies for our Employer Group Stop Loss segment, supporting Commercial Pricing functions. In particular, this role will primarily focus on our rapidly growing Wellpoint Stop Loss segment.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Prepares and interprets data and related formulae.
- Monitors trend of profit and profitability by line of business and/or product.
- Serves on major, multi-function projects as Actuarial representative.
- Organizes and directs the staffing and workflow of the section.
- Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports.
- Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
- Collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders to provide Pricing support and Risk Analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a BA/BS degree and minimum of 6 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- FSA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Knowledge or work experience in the Stop Loss product area.
- Large Group Commercial Pricing Experience.
