Senior Actuarial Consultant – Capital Modeling, P&C Insurance

It is a hybrid role that can offer flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chicago office.

What the day will look like

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Risk and Capital Modeling Technology team, which delivers high-quality solutions and projects to support our colleagues and clients.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in meeting the expectations of our clients and enhancing Aon’s Capital Modelling Solution Suite, focusing predominantly on the Tyche Capital Model (‘TCM’) and ReMetrica tools.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, enjoy product development/coding, and work with both clients and team members on bespoke model builds.

In addition, they would possess exceptional communication skills and have a capital modeling background.

Day-to-day activities will include:

  • Model development:

Working in a multi-disciplinary team to design, implement, and review capital modeling solutions for (re)insurers.

Leading the development work on new initiatives, including project planning/governance and performing coding tasks as required.

Staying up to date on all development work and new software features.

  • Client delivery and prospecting support:

Liaising with clients to gather business requirements on bespoke model builds and perform development tasks as the technical leader.

Assisting in onboarding new clients and implementation projects, working with the US P&C Actuarial Consulting team and the Platform Delivery team.

Delivering demos of Tyche and TCM to prospects and existing clients.

Supporting prospecting of new opportunities through trials.

  • Team-centric outlook:

Collaborating with other team members, including those in the London office.

Supporting and training users of our systems.

Communicating (written and verbal) with internal key stakeholders and clients.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the P&C Insurance sector in an actuarial role.
  • 2+ years of experience in the P&C Insurance sector in a risk and/or capital modeling role.
  • 2+ years of experience in coding (Python, SQL desirable) and developing modeling solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of capital modeling techniques.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent years of industry experience.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Knowledge of rating agency and/or regulatory capital modeling framework(s).
  • Knowledge of stochastic financial modeling software.
  • Knowledge of Tyche would be advantageous.
  • Experience leading and managing development projects and/or teams.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
